Behind the (very tall) door...U.K. Trip Day 4n

Behind this very tall door is:
the royal clothing collection at Kensington Palace

This gown is, apparently, light as a cloud.
(a very big cloud)
(a large cumulonimbus cloud)

dainty details of the neckline and stomacher

(you know she must have been wearing a killer corset)

Queen Elizabeth isn't the only queen who wore amazing hats!
Detailed embroidery work on the bodice and sleeves.

And not to be left out...the royal guys regalia...
Swords are very much in evidence

Ermine fur, royal robe, sword...
and a super long train that required the help of quite a few pages
(and I'll bet it was murder trying to go around corners)

In my humble opinion, this was the pinnacle of the entire collection.
It was not much thicker than a book
(well, maybe War and Peace or Les Miserables)
but almost wider than a library.
(why, in the name of all that is beautiful and good, was it considered fashionable for hips to look larger than most of the battleships in the Spanish Armada?)
