Another Mother's Son

I have a young friend--I haven't known him for very long, but sometimes I feel like I have known him forever, which is kind of funny because he is only two years old. We like to talk about many things and we laugh alot. Our difference in age doesn't seem to matter much to him. He has the biggest blue eyes--clear and bright and trusting. His words and actions reveal to me that his parents cherish him and have taken care to train him for the Lord, just as they are training his siblings. Gentle and soft-spoken, he loves to talk about his farm, his animals and his siblings. He is so very dear to me and sometimes I have to remind myself that he is another mother's son. But his mother has other responsibilities during this hour at our homeschool co-op and she has entrusted him to me for this time. I care for her baby as she teaches my children, speaking wisdom and knowledge into their lives one day a week. Sometimes he cries a little when his mommie leaves so I just hug this little treasure and keep him feeling safe and loved until she returns.
