I have to say a little more about the food. Yum. The End.
Ok, that was kind of a lie. I have a lot more to say:
Oh, the scones and the endless pot of tea. And the darling little jars of jam and clotted cream. I don't know how cream becomes clotted or how they preserve it in those little jars but I am glad they do.
I was a little hesitant about the whole salmon finger sandwich deal, not being a fan of raw fish. However, somehow I convinced myself that the salmon was smoked and therefore not exactly raw. I summoned up all my courage and I'm really glad I did. It was savory and delicious---plus I was really needing some protein to counteract all those carbohydrates.
By the time we got to the pastries I'm pretty sure we all thought we had died and gone to heaven. Except for Sara. I'm pretty sure she was in heaven the minute they brought the tea tray out. We didn't hear much from her corner after we blessed the food. I actually don't know when I've ever seen her happier. Because I missed her wedding day, not actually knowing her back then.
